Notes
Harriet found a few participants waiting for her at the meeting place. The chairperson of the program Namukwana welcomed her again to their village. She told her that the group was able to build two stoves on their own from the time their had the previous meeting with kibo. She also told her that as far as smearing most homes have started smearing their home facilities and it is a requirement for every home before it gets a stove. The community together with Harriet decided to walk with her to inspect the stoves they were able to build on their own as well as follow up on the smearing of the home facilities. The stoves that the community were able to build on their own were very good that is the size of the stove, the stoves were placed in the right spot of the kitchens will will allow smoke to be vented out while cooking. Harriet thanked the community for mastering the skill and encouraged them to continue building stoves on their own since they have now learnt how to build on their own. Also as far as smearing is concerned most people have now embraced smearing and she encouraged them to continue so that their stoves would look neat, last longer as well as avoid jiggers infestation. The community was very excited to able to build perfect stoves and promised to build stoves for the remaining participants in the group. They also have a plan of scaling out to the neighboring communities after completing to build for all the members. Also those ones whose stoves had dried up were busy cooking on them on daily basis because they had observed their values their had even taken out the three stones they used to cook on before getting stoves.
