- Bible Lesson 1: The Light of the world
- Notes
- Ida went to Budhumba and introduced the first Bible lesson “The light of the world “
She thanked the community for leaving other things they had to and decided to come and learn. She asked the community to tell her what they understood by the word “light “
Otim said that it’s the Sun, Josephine said that it’s doing good things and a young girl of Seven years said that it’s the opposite of darkness.
Ida asked what are some of the things people do in darkness and those done in the light?
They listed things done in darkness as stealing, rumors, killing, fornication, drinking alcohol especially pastors, adultery etc.
List of things done in light, forgiveness, kindness, giving, sharing, helping those in need, fasting etc.
Ida encouraged the community to always try to do things in the light because they (community ) are the light of the world or their village.
What parents do in the presence of their children it’s what children will do when they grow up. Let’s be the examples to our children.
Mangadalena said that it’s true, because she abused someone when a child was looking after few days, that child abused the same woman and bragged as she was worse than the mom. The conversation went on as other members testified how their children embarrassed them but they didn’t know they were the cause/ teachers. Ida told the community that they are the first practical teachers , they should try to be careful around the children.
She also reminded the community that they are the light of their village, when they do things that contradict with the light then people will who see them will see darkness and will stay confused. Let’s us light our candles and put them on stands not under the bed.
Ida taught a song “This little light of mine” in lusoga. This was fun as the meeting ended.
