- Notes
- Suzan went to the lower side of the village to follow up on the smearing of the program facilities and the stove usage. When she arrived there, she found some members gathered at the meeting place next to the committee chairperson’s home. They happily welcomed her and together they sat down and had a few discussions about the activity process that day.
The Healthy and safe kitchen program committee chairperson made some reports about the activities carried out so far such as building stoves for other members from their neighboring village which earned them some money that they put in their savings account. This was a good report in away that building the stoves became one of their income generating activities.
The community together with suzan walked around the village visiting home to home while monitoring the program facilities and most of the members had improved on their sanitation and hygiene and had also maintained their facilities such as the stoves which were fully in use, the shower areas, dish racks, latrines, rubbish pits and kitchens.
A few members had not improved on their sanitation facilities saying they were always too busy in their gardens and promised to repair them once they got some free time.
Suzan thanked all the members for participating in the program activities and encouraged them to always smear all their facilities especially the stoves which would easily get spoilt with cracks once neglected. The members thanked Kibo group for empowering them with the skills of building the energy saving stoves saying that it has greatly improved on their kind of living. The meeting then came to an end.
