Notes
Enock and Martin went to this village to continue carrying out the evaluation survey to check on the standard of facilities like dish racks, shower areas, rubbish pits, latrine coverage, clean compounds and also teach the benefits of those facilities. But before teaching them the importance of all the facilities, they taught them the challenges which occur because of lack of latrines. Enock and Martin ashamed some of the people who were still constructing latrines because they were delaying yet they feed everyday and do a lot of open defection which in a long run may cause diarrhoea, trachoma, dynasty, cholera and even loss of the beloved ones due to poor hygiene. They promised to speed up and before the end of next week, they will have all the latrines completed with nice structures. They where impressed to find majority of the families having constructed new dish racks and some of them still constructing them. This Show’s that the people have learnt the values of having dish racks and are using them. There are so many new rubbish pits as well, clean compounds well swept and few of the residents have already constructed new rubbish pits and using them effectively. The ladies can now shower during day time unlike before, when they didn’t have shower areas, and used bushes around and could shower in the night or even dodge taking showers because in the night it is so cold. Two ladies testified and appreciated the program and all the lessons taught to them as they see a great change and development in many homes.
