To check on facility constructions especially roof
Tom arrived in igerera village and was joined with the chairman and three committee members. They moved in homes to check on roofing of latrines as well as construction of facilities like dish racks, shower facilities, kitchens etc. in the first homes visited they were encouraging residents about maintenance as well as improvements on facilities like smearing of the kitchen, shower facility and latrine.
During the follow up they met three new constructed latrines and well roofed. One was for an elderly woman who Tom and the committee members appreciated greatly for the commitment she put in to get a new latrine. She also inspired her neighbor to have a latrine just like hers.
During the follow up they also encouraged residents about hand washing through the construction of hand washing stands. They were greatly encouraged when they found 8 homes with hand washing stands and each of them had a jerican set on with water. One of the committee members offered to continue moving around guiding and helping residents on how to construct the hand washing stands.
After moving around, Tom encouraged the committee members to continue encouraging especially the few residents still having latrines under construction to have them finished and likewise to homes without dish racks or shower facility. After Tom left for jinja.
