Notes
Tom, kibo fellows and a kibo board member Greg visited Mpumiro village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements. They were welcomed by the village leaders and after greeting, they started moving around. They visited a home with a new pit of about 32ft deep, another at about 7ft and three more at about 25ft. They also founds new latrines that they have started constructing on the structure while other latrines there structures were not to good standard. For homes with pits, they thanked the residents and encouraged them to construct better latrines with good construction methods and materials. For the latrines with structures below standard, they were encouraged to reconstruct as the structures were not string enough to last longer. While they were moving around the village, they were joined by the chairman of Buyoboya village who said it was a,very important program to improve the sanitation and hygiene of Mpumiro but also requested that the program be extended to his village as well. He moved with the group also encouraging fellow residents and neighbors to improve and said from that day, he will be moving and encouraging residents to improve as its important for the health of his residents. After moving around the village encouraging residents about sanitation and hygiene improvements, they left for jinja.
