Notes
Enock, visited this community to check on all latrine construction, dish racks, encourage maintenance of all the facilities say hand washing stations and use of ash in latrines. When he arrived, he met with all the local leaders to continue walking around, mobilize residents to come for the upcoming meeting where all the residents will learn the new design of dish rack construction and new designs of hand washing stations. As we walked around we checked on the latrines standard and encouraged the community residents to continue working so hard to improve their facilities, smear the facilities. There are some families which have greatly embraced the program, they have all the facilities in their homes, built wood saving stoves, planted new Mvule trees and appreciating the good work kibo is doing in their villages. There is a widow called Margret who most of the residents in this community didn’t think she would be able to have a proper latrine, shower areas, dish rack and kitchen area but shockingly she has the most out standing facilities. I was so impressed with the great work she has done. Most of the residents are using her facilities as a model home. There are so many good latrines constructed with cement and sand with brick in this community. We also followed up on homes which didn’t have latrines before to check and see if there was any progress. There are three new latrines constructed in those homes and the women in those homes were so happy for the achievement since they used to practice open defection.
