To follow on sanitation improvements
While in kishaike village, Tom found several new latrines under construction and other facilities like dish racks and showers facilities. Tom and the committee members moved in the lower section of the village as well as the section around the mosque.
Together with the committee members, they encouraged residents who are constructing facilities about facility standards as well as better construction methods.
In one home, they encouraged a resident to first mix mud and water to construct the floor of the latrine and letting it dry before the construction of the structure. In another home they encouraged the resident to roof his latrine and construct a cement layer of bricks to strengthen the structure.
Also encouragements were done in homes with no dish racks so that they can also construct better dish racks for there homes. They were encouraged to raise funds for nails to construct the dish racks. Tom also encouraged the residents about starting saving money for the iron sheets.
Later there was a meeting to discuss about the committee members. There were issues of one committee member wanting to do everything by himself and therefore the others felt like he was despising there work. Because rains were coming, Tom encouraged them to mobilize each other for a meeting to resolve the conflicts. Tom left for jinja.
