Notes
Tape,Suzan and Jessica went to the village to teach the members how to build the fuel efficient stoves. When they got there , they met one of the committee leaders who informed them about the other members who had divided themselves into two groups and that had gone to the homes where the demonstration stoves were going to be built. Kibo staff also divided themselves and went to the homes. They found the members busy arranging the materials which were going to be used for building the stoves. Both sides from two different homes led by the Kibo staff started working together from fetching the dirt from the anthill to stamping it until it got ready for building. In the groups, there were new members who had just joined the program and didn’t know anything about the stove. Kibo staff requested the members to go into the kitchen and stand aside while watching the whole process of building the stove. Tape and Jessica began building the stoves while explaining every step to the members, some other members also practiced in cutting the banana stems and building the stoves although it wasn’t perfectly done. Kibo staff kept on answering questions that the members asked during the building process and this was very important because it enabled them to try and learn the skills without being left behind. Two stoves were successfully built that day and the members got so excited especially the owners of the homes where the stoves were built. Kibo staff thanked everyone for participating in the activities that day, encouraging them to continue practicing whenever they found free time. The meeting finally came to an end after they agreed on the date that the next meeting would take place.
