To introduce Life Skills program in this village.

Introduction It was good to meet community members in this village and introduced to them about life skills program. Life skills is a good program to be taught to the community members, since life skills programs is being taught at school to the pupils it is better to also teach the parents of theses children too so that they can some times share what they have learnt. Overview When Manuela reached the village, she found few members waiting for her, she asked them where are other people? They told her that they have gone to the mosque since this village is dominated by Muslim, every Friday they do go for prayers, Manuela decided to wait for them, when they came , Manuela started, by asking them if their children have ever shared with them about life skills, some parents said yes, others no because their children may not be among the age bracket that Kibo Group is teaching. After that, Manuela started by defining what life skills is, she said that life skills is a process of adapting positive behavior that enables an individual to overcome challenges in their daily life. She also explained about the lesson and topics life skills program, Manuela was explaining each topic and the lessons with the why that lesson is taught to them and their children as well. For example she told the parents that the reason why they teach children communication skills is to improve on their children’s communication skills, decisions making so that they can come up with good decisions which will help them in life, Relationship Skills is to teach the pupils to practice good relationships and love among them. Manuela went on and explained to the parents that the reason why they teach HIV/AIDS is because of the today’s epidemic disease, when pupils know how that disease is transmitted they will be able to make sure that they prevent it. Manuela told the parents that, also them they need to know how Disease are being transmitted and prevented so that they can know how to deal with such kind of disease.
