Lesson Taught
Health lesson 9: Disease Recognition
Notes
Ida and Irene went to Nabikenge to continue with disease recognition and Irene continued with the prevention and treatment of intestinal worms. Irene started with a review of the previous lesson and then asked the members how they can prevent the intestinal worms. The members mentioned several ways which included walking barefoot, avoiding open deification, avoid eating half cooked meat and among others then Irene also encouraged the members to always follow the deworming schedule as per the policy to treat worms. Nabirye asked if eating raw salads exposes one to worms, Irene advised that before eating salads they should be half cooked or put in hot water for some time to kill the bacteria before eating. With several questions Irene informed the members to deworm themselves and all family members and to also inform other members.
Next Visit

Program Success
Nabikenge has added on to their group garden an extension of a vegetable garden which will help them earn some money as they wait for gnuts to get ready and the prices to go high.
Program Critical Needs
Nabikenge is fine with health lessons now with Irene. They feel like God has answered their prayers through Kibo. Even if Kibo doesn’t give medicine as long as they are told what to do.
Program Ownership
The community participate fully throughout the lesson and they ask many questions which indicates how attentive they are.
