- Notes
- Irene went to since to continue with disease recognition and basically to continue with diseases that can be acquired from eating and drinking contaminated food and water. Irene started with a recap of the previous lesson then asked the community members what they know about diseases got from eating and drinking contaminated food and water.
With several contributions, Isabirye said this is an outcome of eating a lot of food, margret said diseases got from drinking water which is not boiled and food that is not well cooked, with more views from the members Irene added that these are diseases acquired or got from eating and drinking contaminated dood or water from the local economy or source.
Then Irene continued to ask some of the examples of the diseases that can be acquired from eating and drinking contaminated food and water, mutesi mentioned malaria, cholera, diarrhea, and more as interactions went on but Irene clarified that malaria is not got from contaminated food and water but through a bite from an infected female anopheles mosquito.and gave more examples like typhoid, salmonella, etc.
Irene also asked the members some of the signs and symptoms and the members gave diarrhea, stomach pain, vomiting, and many others then later the members asked several questions and at the end Irene informed the community members that next time they will talk about prevention and treatment in case of contamination.
