- Harriet went with a plan to build the first demonstration stove but unfortunately there was a tense meeting about the man who killed his wife and hanged himself after. The man claimed his wife was having an affair with another man, he had talked to the parents of the woman to settle those issues but they didn't do any thing about it. So out of his anger he killed his wife and hanged himself because he feared being taken to jail. The relatives of the man were claiming that the womans behavior led to their son's death and those of the woman were also not happy that the man killed their daughter. This misunderstanding had led to the innocent children's suffering because no one wanted to take care of them. Harriet did not want to council their meeting and introduce the stove lesson because the most pressing need was solving the community conflicts that were present at the time. Harriet encouraged them to forgive each other and look at these innocent children who need both physical and psychological support from the community . It was not easy but hopefully the community will recover slowly and re concile with each other.
