Martin and Enock went to Kishaike to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement in that village. They walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. in the section from the borehole towards the mosque. Good enough the big number of homes have worked on their sanitation facilities like dish racks, latrines and shower facilities. Especially the group were encouraging the residents about the dish rack standards and the latrines.
For the latrines others are constructing them in a good standard and for those who are still working on them also the group was encouraging them to do the same work. Like Alijanati Namuganza she’s a widow and an old woman, but the group was so encouraged to see that she constructed a new dish rack and a shower area in good standard and a strong way. And for those who have not constructed their dish racks, Six homes have contributed their money for buying nails for constructing their new dish racks.
For those who are still working on their shower facilities, the group was encouraging them that if they construct them with cement it will be better, to make them stronger.
Generally the community members have worked so hard on their sanitation facilities like latrines, rubbish pits, kitchens, shower facilities and some have worked on their dish racks. And because of their hard work, they are willing to work on them.
Martin, Enock and the group walked in 46homes.
Next Visit: 2019-07-19 - Purpose: Follow up on sanitation and hygiene improvement.
