David and Steven were in the village to follow up on the sanitation standards they had set before during the time when they were active in the village.They also reminded the water and sanitation committee members to continue planning of their roles and the responsibilities as they were told before. David and Steven first visited the borehole which was drilled by the Kibo in section B. However they were encouraged to find that the borehole was really taken good care of . Therefore the Kibo staff advised some of the two water and sanitation committee members whom they found at the borehole to replace the weaker poles by stronger new ones . They continued and advised them to have a general village borehole meeting so that they would continue contributing money towards their borehole account. Mr kige told the Kibo staff that since it was a harvesting season it was going to be easier for them to add on the 1300000 shillings they had as their borehole account balance.Mr kige told the Kibo staff that they were planning to have their next meeting the next coming Saturday. Mr kige took David and Steven to his home and showed them his new latrine slab construction . The Kibo staff appreciated him so much because he had used better construction materials . They even advised him to extend the same way to his other neighbors who might have the money for a better future sustainable stronger latrine. From kige’s home they moved and visited quite a good number of different homes encouraging them about sanitation improvements and standards. They also moved to the boreholes in nawandyo A upper and nawandyo B lower.However they noted that the two both boreholes in the two sections were not taken good care of . Therefore the Kibo staff reminded the two chairmen mr Mohamed Gasemba and kyambu to organize the rest of the other members and construct new borehole fences around their boreholes. Mr Mohamed Gasemba and kyambu promised in one week’s time that they will have completed the construction of the two fences. Hence also continuing contributing money towards their borehole accounts since they both had less money worthy 80000shillings. In general the hygiene and sanitation of the three sections were good Except for some areas which had some need for improvements.
