Notes
Introduction Prevention is better than cure, that is why it is very important to teach people about the importance of practicing prevention measures, some times they say that prevention is better than cure, Manuela went to bukudomira village to teach the community about how HIV prevention, this lesson was aimed at educating community about the different ways of preventing HIV from catching them, for example this can be .through having protected sex, avoid sharing sharp instruments, always go for an HIV test before marriages or sex and going to the hospital when pregnant. Overview When Manuela reached the village, she did not find any body at the meeting place, she decided to move around re mobilizing members, some of them were around and rest had gone to the mosque, Manuela waited until they came back from wherever they were. During the session, Manuela started by asking the members about the previous lessons that they learnt, some members tried to share their ideas. After that Manuela started by asking the members that what do they understand by the term precautions, no ideas, after seeing that no one was responding, Manuela explained to the community members that, it means that each and everyone has the potential of acquiring the virus and that means everybody must be careful because HIV has no cure. While teaching, Manuela told the community members that it is better to prevent than waiting for treatment time, Manuela told the community that they can prevent HIV Virus if they are ready to do it for example, they should avoid having unprotected sex with an infected person, Avoid accepting any blood transfusions, stop sharing sharp instrumental , always go for an HIV test before marriage or sex and also pregnant mothers should always give birth in the hospital so that to avoid transmission.
