- When Tom reached the village, he found when the vhts were waiting for him. He shared with them about the plan for the day but they decided that they hold the meeting first before moving around the village. In the meeting they discussed about residents who up to today have not finished their facilities and also getting ready for the final evaluation/survey. About the residents who have not yet finished their facilities, the vhts suggested that they be given towards the end of the month and that the vhts will continue to check on them and encourage them. They also said they are ready for the final evaluation but suggested that it should be done after Tom and the vhts have done a final follow up in each and every home teaching and encouraging. After the meeting, they moved around and in the trading center, they found three new latrines which were constructed during the Christmas period. Also another resident had just brought materials for construction and said in a few days construction will be starting. On the lower section two latrines were found under construction while on the upper side two more were under construction as well. In almost most of the homes visited, they all had dish racks. The vhts have also set a plan to start sensitizing the community about hand washing by teaching them about how to construct tippy taps. Tom was encouraged by the work the vhts had done during the Christmas period and encouraged them to continue doing so even after Tom and kibo group has left the community.
