Irene and Ida went to Nabikenge to teach about family planning, Ida started with a review of the previous lessons as a reminder to those who were not in the previous meeting then invited Irene to continue with the lesson.
Irene thanked the community members for actively and voluntarily participating in the meeting and the efforts they have to visit the hospitals then asked the community members what they understand by family planning.
The women were excited with the lesson though the men at first felt like family planning was to limit them on the number of children they are to have but as the lesson went on the men were impressed that family planning doesn’t stop them from having the number of children they can have but to have timely, planned, well spaced, healthy and a reasonable number of children they can support.
Irene discussed about the different methods and At the end of the lesson the members asked several questions and Irene referred them to the Government hospital to receive the service. Irene then encouraged them to come in the next meeting to discuss about the benefits of family planning.
