- Tom on his arrival to the village, he was joined with four other committee members and together they moved from the primary school towards the trading center along the main road. At the section where they started from, there was a new latrime being constructed. The owner of the home Mr isabirye said he was going to the town to purchase cement to construct the floor in the next few days. Tom and the chairman of the village encouraged him to get a good Manson who will do a good job.
The chairman also suggested one individual from the, village that he trusts and promised to discuss the issue with him. In two neighboring homes, there were two latrines under construction. One was at the wall level and the other was a new pit being dug. In the section opposite the primary school, there was a new latrine that was recently finished and waiting to be roofed. Tom and the committee members that they met on the way encouraged the resident to roof his latrine in order to keep it safe from the heavy rains.
In the trading center section, there were two new latrines under construction. On the side of dish racks, Tom and the committee members encouraged the residents to construct stronger dish racks that will last them for a while. They also encouraged residents to use cement on there showers as some showers were already collapsing while others were being constructed. Tom advised also on rubbish pits as there was one resident who specifically asked about the distance of the rubbish pit from the home and Tom advised that it can range from 50ft to about 200 nautical emphasized the use of ash in the rubbish pits as well as burning or using them as manure.
