Notes
Jeska and Tape went to the village to teach the community members how to remove the stems out from the fuel efficient stoves. On reaching there, they found some members gathered at the meeting place together with some of their local leaders who warmly welcomed them to the village. Later after exchanging greetings and having a few discussions about the activity to be carried out that, they walked together to the homes where the stoves were previously built. Kibo staff went a head and divided the members into two groups so that one group would go to another home with Jeska while the other stayed behind with Tape. This was to create space for at least each member to be able to watch how the banana stems were taken out from the stoves. Kibo staff began removing the stems step by step while explaining the whole process to the members because this was one of the most important steps that each one needed to learn while building the stoves. The members were so grateful for the lessons taught that day and the two stoves were neatly smeared and shaped after the stems were taken out. Kibo staff also informed the members to alway smear their stoves after every two weeks so as to avoid cracks which would easily destroy them and only begin cooking on them after one month by counting the first day it was built. Jeska and Tape thanked the members for taking their time in attending the lessons and the meeting came to an end.
