Notes
Topic: Rearing goats and their benefits Background: After receiving their goats, we felt that Maliga community members needed guidance about how to rear them and also what to expect if they reared them very well. Overview: Giving out goats to community members is one of mvule program incentives aimed at providing a sustainable economic flourishing. After giving them goats people of Maliga were so excited and so happy, the chairperson welcomed Abraham and Chris, he took us around the village to see how everyone has prepared for the goats. It was encouraging to see that everyone had built shelter for their goats as Abraham had told them to do. Out of 75 (seventy five) members, only 35 members got the goats, Abraham encouraged those who got the goats to keep them well and bring the offsprings back to the pool for those who didn’t get. Abraham also advised the members to often check their goats and call the veterinary doctor if symptoms persist. The community members were so happy and thanked Kibo for transforming their villages into a business oriented village. At the end of the day every member had known how to care for their goats and what they expected from their goats. Abraham promised that he would visit them to check out how they are caring for their goats and also told them to think of some other project they would do to complement their goats project.
