When they reached the village, they were welcomed by the kishaike committee members and they shared with him how the program is going as well as the challenges they have faced. They emphasized more about taking on responsibilities as the committee as well as staying engaged with the community. One committee member shared about the purpose of being bold and courageous as some, residents are stubborn. They also thanked kibo for empowering them and bringing the program to there village that helps improve the sanitation and hygiene in there homes. The chairman of igerera also shared with them about the benefits the village achieved from kibo like the iron sheets and sanitation improvements. He encouraged them that about Kibo’s promises that kibo always fulfills its promises. He encouraged the committee members to continue being active and continue staying united. He said it’s through unity and the power of the committee that sanitation and hygiene can improve. After the meeting they visited some homes and found three new pits being dug. One pit was finished and the resident was waiting to get logs to start the construction while in another home they encouraged the woman to communicate with her husband so to finish there pit and construct on it. As they moved around, Tom emphasized on the importance of sanitation improvements as well as the roofing of latrines.
