Notes
The wash team Enock and Martin made a visit to this community to meet with all the local leaders, encouraging them to take all the lessons so serious and continue empowering them to improve on the sanitation and hygiene. As they reached, they found when the local leaders where waiting at the meeting area. During the meeting, they spoke about the progress of sanitation and hygiene in there community, they spoke about how many people are still having open latrine pits, Enock asked how many people are not having latrines at the moment and why have they taken a long time without constructing latrines. They said they have only 8 homes which don’t have latrines at the moment but they are busy encouraging them to construct good structures. Most people who don’t have latrine said, they are waiting to sell off some of their crops they harvested then they make good standard facilities and hire some men to dig deep latrines. After a meeting we walked around with these men who have greatly embraced the program, and have been empowered to help all their fellow residents to construct good dish racks. I was so impressed to see many new latrines and shower areas, dish racks, hand washing stations. We walked around and saw how the community is greatly improved. We reminded the residents about the core importance of standardization of all the facilities. Encouraged the proper maintenance of sanitation in latrines and use ash every time to chase flies out of latrines and also smear all the facilities.
