- Notes
- Suzan went to the village to monitor the maintenance of the healthy and safe kitchens facilities. This was an abrupt visit however to find out weather the members were using the stoves correctly and maintained all their facilities.
When she got there, she went to one of the committee members home and found the chairperson with other members discussing some village issues. They got so surprised on seeing Suzan because it was an abrupt visit but then went ahead and welcomed her to the village.
Suzan explained her intentions to the members that day, saying they were going to move around the village while visiting each home.
Together they got up and began moving while monitoring the home facilities. Some people had stopped using the new stoves for cooking saying they were not cooking well enough but according to Suzan’s observations, the very members had failed to improve on their general sanitation and hygiene within their homes as well as to maintain their stoves which were all cracked and messed up with a lot of ashes inside.
Suzan advised them to first improve on their sanitation and hygiene then repair and smear their spoilt facilities such as the stoves, shower areas, latrines and dish racks because doing this would help them live a happy healthy life with their families.
Other members had greatly maintained all their facilities and improved on their general sanitation and hygiene which was so impressive to see.
Suzan thanked the members for the good work carried out so far and asked them to maintain the same spirit of working together as a community and the meeting came to an end .
