- Alex, Henry, Justine, Lorna, Sarah all Kibo staff went to Nabituluntu for the commissioning of the new borehole. They were joined by some district officials like a representative from the district water office, the LC5, LC 3, councillors, CDO. The day was very good and the community was very excited to start using their borehole the first day. The LC5 and Henry, the Kibo country director were the guest of honor at the commissioning of the borehole. The community was called upon to maintain the good sanitation standards in their homes and also take good care of their new borehole. Every body was called on to own their borehole and make sure they are always responsible towards their borehole. The community had to also come up with their own bylaws to guide them as they will be using their borehole. Henry thanked the community for embracing Kibo programs and called on them to keep embracing many other programs and people that will partner with them to lift up their community. The LC 5 also told the community members that it was not Kibo’s borehole and so all the community members have to be responsible and always put money aside to take care of their borehole whenever it breaks down. The community development officer reminded the water user committee of their roles and responsibilities. The community fulfilled all their responsibilities and even showed everyone the 300,000sh as the initial amount of money towards their borehole account. Every one was very happy to start drinking safe and clean water from their borehole and vowed to take care of their borehole.
