Notes
Tom planned to meet with the government leaders in bugweri district as well as the sub-county health inspectors as well as the chief of busesa sub-county. He was meant to be accompanied by the health assistant from igombe sub-county who promised to introduce him to the health assistant of busesa. Tom traveled to Iganga and was supposed to meet with the health assistant from Iganga before they proceeded. Tom tried to reach the health assistant by phone but he failed. Later after a long wait he was able to reach him and they met up but it was quit late. They both agreed on postponing the visit together but the health assistant requested Tom to spend some time discussing about chikunu and how to coordinate the evaluation as well as if sanitation interventions are needed. The health assistant also greatly spoke of an organization which is also helping in promoting sanitation and hygiene through the clts approach. He also greatly pointed to working with people and creating relationships instead of harassment and imprisonments. Tom also greatly echoed Kibo’s approach based on relationships building. They agreed to postpone the meeting and Tom left for jinja.
