Notes
Ida went to Bupeni and taught about the ratio of chicken feeds. How much food is given to a chic of a day, two weeks, a month and beyond? And how many grams will a chic be at a certain age? A day chic to one week eats 6.5gms of chic and duck mash, should weigh 28gms. Two weeks 16.5gm chic and duck mash, should weigh 35gms. Three weeks 23gms chic and duck mash and should be 78gms. Week four 33 gms of chic and duck mash and should weigh 170gms. From day one to four weeks, light should be in the coop trans night. After the forth week remove lights from the coop and stop feeding at night too. From week 5 and beyond, add 10 gms of Growers Mash until they are ready for sale or for food. The community had a challenge of the measuring cups. They don’t have weighing scales what can they use as a substitute of weighing scales. Ida encouraged them to use the measurements they use when growing maize, beans and ground nuts.
