Notes
While in Mpumiro village, Tom visited the lower section of the village to check on facility construction and improvements. He was joined by two committee members and together they moved encouraging residents about sanitation improvements as well as,facility construction standards and improvements. In the first section they moved in, they found two new recently constructed latrines. Tom and the committee members encouraged one of the residents who owned one of the latrines to try and roof the latrine as the structure is not roofed. Tom encouraged the resident if he can to contribute money for the iron sheet to roof his latrine. In another section of the village, they found when a resident had constructed a new dish rack but it was not well constructed. They encouraged the resident to construct a better dish rack following the new model. Also there were four other new pits and in one home, Tom and the committee members encouraged the resident to redo the pit as it was very wide and had started collapsing on the sides. Tom and the committee members also encouraged residents about the contribution for iron sheets. The chairman also encouraged the residents to contribute as it will help the residents improve on the standards of the latrines.
