- Notes
- Abraham met thirty four Ikumbya community members and the purpose was to discuss how they can open a group bank account. They moved around checking how the members are doing and most of the members said that the chickens they received soon are starting to lay eggs, they are prepared because Ida thought them how you can start with one chicken and progress even to having much money than the one who grows maize. They bought baskets where they will keep the chicks so that birds can not take them or animals.
Abraham thanked the members for working so hard to keep the chickens and he reminded them that they are soon getting the eggs and that means they will be getting money but the challenge is how to keep that money and that is why they need to be thinking about opening a group account.
The chairperson Mss Nabirye told the group that there is a need but it is upon the group to decide or they may have a metallic box and put three padlocks so that three people must be around to open it.
Some members said that let them first try to open a group bank account but if it fails then they will have other alternatives.
They are supposed to send some members to Kamuli town and check how much is needed to open a group account and also which bank.
