Notes
Introduction Lorna and Chris went to Nawampiti village to meet the community members and discuss with them about goal setting, every individual has to set either a long term or short term goal and Nawampiti being an agricultural village, such a lesson was so important to help them plan well . There were 7 Women and 9 men in attendance including the chairman LC 3, the Chairman said the number would have been big but they lost a member so some people had indeed gone for burial. As usual the members are given a chance to review the previous lesson and give their opinion about it, this helps Lorna to assess and know whether members are understanding well. The previous lesson was about role model, the members chose mr Bageya as their role model and promised to carry some presents for the next meeting. This was done to encourage other members to live exemplary lives in their community. Lorna asked members to give ideas about goal setting and the importance of setting a goal as an individual. They looked at short term goals and long term goals where they were able to define what short and long term goals were. Examples of short term goals given were ; quitting alcohol, on this one members argued whether its long or short term goal and they later said it depends on the person. One man even stood up and gave his own example where he said , he woke up one morning and said he will never take alcohol again but he also said it depends on the addiction. Another example was bricklaying , being a better father who has time for his children, being a good husband or wife among others ,while examples of long term were; marrying because this involves building a house and making preparations which takes a long time, starting a business especially when it requires more capital although sometimes short term goals lead into long term goals like starting with one chicken which eventually leads to a goat and finally a cow, building a house is also long term, traveling, educating a child until up to university is long term which requires one to save up among others. Conclusion The parish councilor thanked Lorna for bringing such a wonderful lesson to the community because he felt this would help members live a purposeful life. Lorna requested each member to go back home and come up with both long term goals and short term goals they can work on as an individual and promised to discuss them in the next meeting.

Program Success
Yes, in the previous lesson after identifying the role model in the village, people made promises to this old man where they promised him milk, bread and sugar. This made everyone reflect upon themselves on whether they were being exemplary and role models to the people around them or in their lives. Today they fulfilled those promises and when Lorna asked why, they said that they wanted to do it in Lorna’s presence.

9176 Former Local council chairman participating in the days lesson
9179 This is Bageya the chairperson elderly persons in this village. He was chosen as the village role model because he keeps time, is always present at functions, is always smart among others and Lorna couldn’t agree more because he is always the first person at the meeting place since Life a Skills started in this village.
