It was such a good meeting with the community leaders of Kisiro village and all the Vhts in the village. They were 16 leaders that attended this meeting. This meeting was to officially introduce Kibo in kisiro through the village leaders. Kisiro is divided into two LCs, Kisiro West and East and both were well represented. Kibo staff, Alex and Tom told the leaders what Kibo was planning to start doing in their community and all the leaders welcomed with great pleasure all that was to be done. Therefore all the leaders were called on to support what Kibo is intending to do in Kisiro. The leaders have to be behind Kibo in order to create change in their community, they have to play their part as leaders and we have to speak one language of unity in the community. During this meeting, we discussed the approaches to mobilize every one come for the meeting on the day of triggering. Among the ideas that were suggested was; 1. All the leaders that came for the meeting should mobilize everyone to come and see something new that they have never seen in their community. So every body was asked to use all their techniques that can pull people/ entice them to come for the meeting. 2. The day of triggering was decided on to be the 7th/ feb/ 2018 at kisiro primary school at noon. 3. Some suggestions from Alex and Tom together with the community was to involve a drama group that performs sanitation drama songs and skits to be around on the day of triggering. This is still aimed at pulling a large crowd of people at the triggering session. Also to have a PA system that can be used on that day. Tom and Alex told the leaders and the Vhts that came for the meeting that Kibo was to rely on them mostly to help mobilize the people to come. The leaders were very happy that Kibo selected their village for sanitation program and promised to give all the support needed. The meeting ended at about 2:35pm and everyone was asked to immediately start mobilizing the people to attend the meeting next week Wednesday 7.
