- Notes
- Jeska and Tape found the participants in Kagulu A already at the meeting place and were busy cutting grass for building stoves.
The group had already identified the two participants to build for stoves.kibo staff divided the participants into two groups and each group was joined by a Kibo staff.
Kibo staff asked the participants to try building stoves as they guide them .At the end of the activity two stoves were fairy built with some few mistakes. One stove the participants forgot to put a banana stem for a vent while another stove participants forgot to Put a banana stem for a hole that will bring in oxygen to light fire.
Kibo staff corrected the mistakes as the participants watched and told them the importance of all the different holes on the stove. She told them that if they don’t put a vent smoke will always remain in the kitchen and also the absence of the hole for oxygen will require some one to always sit in the kitchen to blow fire which is time consuming.
She also encouraged the participants to keep on practicing because practice makes perfect. The participants thanked Kibo for being kind and loving as they taught them. They also promised to keep on trying until they learn to build stoves on their own.
