Notes
Martin went to Mpumiro, to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement. He walked around that village with the Chairman LC1, LC2 and the VHTs. Good enough, they found Six families working on their new latrines. Three of them are constructing them and other three are still digging them like Azizi Kawanguzi he is digging a new pit latrine it’s now 15ft deep, and he is still continuing to make it 30ft deeper and others. Other families have worked on their sanitation facilities like dish racks, kitchens, rubbish pits and shower areas. The group saw that there’s a major program of their soil, the soil is sandy, that’s why when it rains all the facilities which was not constructed in a good standard can be destroyed. So they decided to work around encouraging the residents about the standards, maintenance and smearing to make their facilities strong and clean. Because if there not constructed in a good standard, well maintained and smeared, they can be destroyed. After that Martin had a brief meeting with the village leaders, to discuss about what they can do to help the community members to work on their sanitation facilities. Finally the village leaders decided to work hard on their home facilities, to saw the residents that they are part of the community members and to be the example to the hall village. And Martin didn’t know that before he went there, the village leaders had a brief meeting to discuss how they can help kibo and the community members. After discussing, one of the executive LC1 member, he is constructing a strong latrine with bricks and cement, which is so good. Martin and the group walked in 38homes.
