- Notes
- Suzan went to the village with a purpose of monitoring the stove usage and the maintenance of the other program facilities.
When she got there, she found a group of women sitting at the chairperson’s home where the meeting was going to be held.
The women got so excited when they saw Suzan and happily welcomed her to the village .
Together they sat down and first discussed about the program activities that were still going on plus the challenges they faced. In the discussions, it was stated that the members had began building stoves at the neighboring villages and were earning some good money out of it which helped them to buy a few basics for their families which was so impressive.
It was also reported that some members still had problems while cooking on their fuel efficient stoves because they were built at a wrong wind direction yet they also didn’t properly maintain them leaving them crack all over. Suzan requested the members with good strong facilities to always find time and assist the other members in improving on their facilities especially the stoves.
Later on, Suzan and the group members got up and moved around the village visiting home to home while looking at different home facilities such as the dish racks, latrines, shower areas, kitchens and stoves.
About 21 members had improved in their general sanitation and hygiene as well as their facilities while most were still under repair because of the rains that had destroyed them.
After the whole process, Suzan thanked the members for the good work carried out and encouraged them to keep maintaining their facilities so that they lived a happy healthy life with their families and the meeting came to an end.
