- Notes
- Suzan went to Ituba Namalowe to monitor the number of fuel efficient stoves in use and the maintenance of the other Healthy and safe kitchens facilities such as the bathrooms, latrines, dish racks, rubbish pits and kitchens.
When she arrived there, she got some committee group leaders already gathered at the meeting place within the trading center waiting patiently. They welcomed Suzan to the village and after exchanging greetings, they first discussed about the progress of the healthy and safe kitchens activities such as the smearing of the buildings and repairing of some facilities that were destroyed by the rains.
The members agreed together with Suzan to move around the village and visit some homes where most facilities had been destroyed and see if they were under repair. In the process, some members were found repairing their dish racks, latrines and bathrooms. Others promised to construct them during dry season saying they would use the old ones in a mean time.
About 26 members had well maintained their stoves and other facilities while others needed to improve and rebuild their facilities.
By the end of the day Suzan appreciated every persons work and encouraged them to always have the spirit of helping one another in repairing their facilities because this would help them live a better healthy life free from diseases.
She thanked all of them for participating in monitoring process and the meeting came to an end wishing one another a happy stay.
