Notes
When Tom arrived in the village, he found when the vhts were waiting for him and together they started moving around the village checking on sanitation and hygiene improvements as well as mobilizing residents for the meeting. They moved in the section of the village where the police officer comes from. In that section they found five latrines being constructed on. Mr kifefe had brought the bricks, sand, cement, iron bar and a wire mesh to start the construction of the concrete floor for the latrine. He had not yet started the construction because he lost a relative but the wife said he will start off with the construction right when he comes back. In mr Karim’s home, he has started constructing the structure as well as the political officer who has finished the foundation and now only remains with the floor as well as the walls. Later they moved to the lower section of the village where they found three new latrines. Tom encouraged them and thanked them for the great work they have done. Mr Bosco in the trading center has also finished the walls of the latrine and only remains with constructing the roof on the structure. Tom also encouraged another family with a very deep pit to start constructing on it soon before the rains start. Later they went for a meeting where people came but in small number. Tom thanked them for the work they have done in promoting sanitation and hygiene in their village. Tom also taught about the use of ash in latrines as well as hand washing. He encouraged everyone to have all the facilities in their homes before the final evaluation starts.
