- Notes
- Tom made a visit to kishaike village to check on facility constructions and improvements. But while he was traveling to the village, reached a section of the road that leads to the village which was cut off by rain. Tom could not use that rout to the village and had to take a different route. He finally made it to the village and was joined by two committee members to move around the village to check on what residents are doing to help improve their sanitation and hygiene standards.
While they were moving, they found three latrines that had collapsed due to heavy rains, there were also two houses that had collapsed due to the storm.
For the latrines being constructed, no new latrine was found but two new dish racks were found.
Tom moved on the lower section of the village encouraging residents to construct better and stronger facilities.
For the three latrines that had collapsed, all did not have roofs and Tom used that to explain to the committee members the value of having their latrines roofed with iron sheets.
Tom kept in encouraging residents to contribute money for the iron sheets for roofing there latrines so that their latrines can last longer. In all the homes that Tom visited, five people said they would contribute for the iron sheets.
