Tom planned to make a visit to kalalu village to have a meeting with village leaders to discuss about Kibo’s intention of promoting sanitation and hygiene in the village. But the day did not go as planned. The trip was cut short by bad roads. As Tom made his way to kalalu village, he found a truck stuck in the swamp and had no way to continue traveling to kalalu. He was directed by the village leaders to use a different route which he tried but also he reached a place that was completely impassable. As he turned around to head back, he found a truck stuck in the road and so he had to wait until the truck was removed from the middle of the road. The road was narrow and muddy so Tom could not even pass around it as he would also get stuck. Finally after a while waiting, the truck was removed and Tom passed. Instead of driving straight to jinja, Tom made a short route to ibaako village and there he found a home with a new latrine being constructed. He only visited 8 homes along the road towards Bukoona. He also met with two committee members of ibaako whom he encouraged to engage their village on a daily basis so as to improve their sanitation and hygiene. Tom after left for jinja.
