Notes
Suzan visited Buluvu village after some time with the intention of monitoring the stove usage and the maintenance of the other program facilities. When she got there, she went to the chairperson’s home and found some members already gathered under a mango tree. They happily welcomed Suzan to the village with smiles and then settled down together. The chairperson briefly updated Suzan with some activities that were still going on such as building stoves and smearing their homes. But because of the rains which were threatening to fall, together they got up and began walking around the village while visiting home to home. During the process, Suzan observed that most members had greatly improved in their general sanitation and hygiene and maintained their facilities such as the shower areas, latrines, dish racks, and kitchens. The group managed to visit about 23 members at the upper side of the village and they were all cooking on their stoves although others still complained about their stoves not cooking well. Suzan found out that the reason as to why the stoves were not cooking well, was not smearing them as usual and therefore had developed cracks all over. The stoves were also built at a wrong wind direction which blocked the air from entering the stove. Suzan requested the other members to find time and assist their fellow members in repairing and rebuilding their fuel efficient stoves so that they would also begin cooking on them. She also encouraged everyone to continue maintaining their facilities always as well as building more stoves for money which would help solve their family issues. The members thanked Suzan for the advice given and the meeting came to an end wishing each other a Happy Merry Xmas.
