This visit follows after a request was submitted by the chairperson water user committee Mrs. Namulondo Azena who requested that Alex have a meeting with the village to remind everyone about borehole ownership and being responsible enough. Some of the water committee members had become very inactive and it was only the chairperson working. The work load became too much and she could not handle it any more. She mobilized the village many times to come for a meeting to come up with solutions but they could not respond well and so the positions to be selected could not take place. Alex reminded the village of the past and how hard it was for most of the people to access clean water, they got a chance from Kibo group and should not misuse it as Kibo group still has the mandate to lock the well if the village is not taking good care of the well. The village hadn’t contributed money and the account was running low, the village people promised to contribute the money this December and requested Kibo group not to lock the well. Also the water committee was reactivated and all the members selected again by the village. WASH shall make a follow up call in January 2020 to make sure that the village fulfilled its promise and if not, the well might be locked down. The village leader was also told to step up and work with his village to make sure they make things right and the people that have been affected by the heavy rains to work on new facilities by January 2020. WASH will follow up on also the Sanitation status of the village and encourage the people to keep up the standards

2020-01-26 - Purpose: Follow up on borehole management and ownership. Will also follow up on sanitation improvements in the village
