To educate community members about how they can understand the importance of following good steps in making good decisions before deciding.
Notes
Introduction This season is the crux of the life skills program. The bridge model is a visual way of presenting the concept of behavior change that is used in the Life Skills program. Introducing decisions making invites participants to create one possible framework to explore when making decisions. Overview In the previous meeting Manuela informed the community members that they will be starting their first class today, when she reached the village, she found 10 community members already at the meeting place waiting for Manuela, Manuela was happy to find the community members. She was wormy welcomed and requested her to have a seat, Manuela sat down and greeted the members, after that Manuela started her lesson with prayer which was led by one of the woman called Mary. Manuela started her lesson telling the community members that they are going to start with how to build the bridge model from information to behavior change then after they will look at how to come up with good steps in making good decisions. Manuela asked the members that , how can they build a bridge model from information to behavior change, they said the only thing they can do is to talk to their children about education, discipline, respect of elders, have good listening skills that is all. After that interaction , one of the community member said that theses days children no longer listening to them , but Manuela advised them not to give up because it’s their responsibility to mentor their children. After Manuela taught the members about steps in making good decisions, Manuela started by telling the community members about her self how she one day made a wrong choice simply because she did not follow the steps in making good decisions , after she asked the community members that who else’s made the same mistake like her there were four people who said that they once also made a wrong decision. Manuela gave the four people chance to share their ideas and after that she told them that it’s good for each and every individual to follow all steps in making good decisions for example like stop, pray to God, think about the situation, define the problem, ask for advice from, then decide on the suggestion, accept the consequences, think about the family, religion and the culture values then make decisions. Manuela went on and told them that if they all follow those steps then they would always come up good decisions for life. Finally, Manuela encouraged the community members to come as a family and decide on what they want to decide on.
