Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. And they was checking on the sanitation and hygiene improvement in that village. Good enough the community members are willing to work on their sanitation facilities, because some homes have worked on their facilities like constructing their new latrines, rubbish pits, dish racks and shower areas. For example Alex Kisambila, dug a new pit latrine 25ft deep it’s under construction, Yisa Mazirige, he worked hard on the new dish rack, and it’s working and Budala Mugoya, he is digging a new pit latrine it’s 20ft deep, he is still continuing to make it 30ft deeper. So the group was just appreciating those who are digging their new pit latrines and other sanitation facilities. And encouraging them about the standards, maintenance and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their latrines as well as the homes. The community members promised the group that they are willing to work on their sanitation facilities to avoid arresting them, because they are near the District Quarters. And village leaders had a meeting to discuss about how they can help the community members to work on their sanitation facilities. Lastly they decided to select one day in a week, to walk around in their village to encourage the residents to work on their home facilities. On Saturday last week, they walked around that village in 25homes to encourage the community members to work on their sanitation facilities. On that day 10 homes contribute the money for buying iron sheets. The group walked in 38homes.
