Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to check on the facility construction in that village. Good enough the big number of homes are busy working on their new pit latrines and others have constructed them and others are still digging, to make them deeper like Mugoya Naikute, he constructed his new latrine 30ft deep. He is among of those who are contributing the money for buying iron sheets for roofing their new latrines, Alajabu Mugoya, he is digging a new pit, it’s now 15ft deep and he is still continuing to make it 30ft deeper, Bakali Kayango, she’s a window their grandson are digging for her a new pit latrine it’s now 17ft deep and their continuing to make it 30ft deeper which is so good, Kayanga Sida, she is digging a new pit latrine it’s now 18ft deep and she is still continuing to make it 30ft deeper, Frank Mugoya, he is doing a best work in that village. Because he is plastering his main house and digging a new pit latrine at the same time which is so good and Muhammad Mugoya, a community member in that village, because of the work of sanitation facilities going in that village, he is just appreciating kibo for that work. The village leaders and other community members are also doing the same. And what is making them to appreciate, because the District headquarters is near that village. Because the work of encouraging the community members about the sanitation facilities, is supposed to be for the District officials. And their policy is not to teach, but just to arrest. But the good thing for the kibo staff is to tell them the advantage of having those facilities, and the disadvantages of not having them. That why they are busy working so hard on their home facilities. So when the group was walking around that village, they was just appreciating those families who are working hard on their sanitation facilities. And they was also encouraging them about the standard and better methods. And they are willing to work on their sanitation facilities on their own without force. As kibo is still working with that community, the group walked in 38homes.
