Notes
Suzan went to the lower side of the village to monitor the maintenance of the stoves and other facilities,as well as the smearing activities. When she got there, she met some members at the meeting place sitting near a community church. She was welcomed and together they briefly sat down and made some reviews about some program activities carried out so far. Some of the activities that were going on were building stoves for other members at their neighboring villages and they were able to earn some money out of it which was so impressive. Some of the youths had made it their personal business and also managed to teach other members how to build stoves. About eight stoves were built for some new members who didn’t have good kitchens by then. Later on, they got up and began walking around the village while visiting each member’s home. A few members had not repaired their facilities although they promised to do so when they got enough time to look for materials in the forest. Most members had well smeared their buildings and were cooking on their new fuel efficient stoves. Suzan kept on encouraging the members to maintain their facilities and see that they smeared them once they got old. She also requested those members who didn’t have high risen firewood storages in their kitchens,to see that they put them in place so as to save time for other educative activities. For this would also help them save firewood in times of scarcity. The members thanked Suzan for the visit and advice given and the meeting came to an end.
