Notes
Suzan made a visit to the village purposely to monitor the maintenance of the program activities and encourage the members to repair their facilities. When she got there, she went to the community hall and met a few members waiting for her patiently and among them were committee leaders. Suzan was welcomed to the village that day and after exchanging greetings, Suzan didn’t waste much time and suggested they first walk around the village so that they would check on different facilities before discussing about a few issues. Together they began moving around the village visiting home to home, and most of the members had spoilt facilities which really needed repair such as the dish racks, latrines, shower areas and kitchens which were not well roofed. A few members had maintained all their facilities as well as smearing all their buildings and stoves. There after the whole monitoring process, they settled down and discussed about a few issues concerning their general hygiene and sanitation at their homes and how to work together as a team to improve on their facilities. The chairperson on behalf of the members, reported the rains to have destroyed most of their facilities and also termites which had eaten up their dish racks and kitchen roofs. Most members were seen organizing materials to repair their facilities such as the grass and wood stems. Suzan requested the group leaders to always hold meetings with their fellow members so that they could try and find possible solutions to their problems and continue working and assisting one another in some activities. The members thanked Suzan for the visit and advice given and the meeting came to an end wishing one another a happy stay.
