Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to check on the sanitation improvement in that village. Good enough the big number of homes are busy digging their new pit latrines. The group was busy focusing on encouraging the residents about latrine constructions. The community members told the group that, they are willing to work on their sanitation on their own without force. And they said that those sanitation facilities are going to help them not kibo, and they promised the group that they are going to construct them in a strong way and a better way, so that they can help and change their families as well as the village. After that Martin had a brief meeting with the village leaders, to discuss about how they help the community members to work on their sanitation facilities. And to select the way how they can mobilize the residents to contribute the money to buy iron sheets for roofing their latrines. Finally the village leaders decided to make follow ups at list one day in a week, when kibo staff is not there. They all agreed for that, because those follow ups are going to put much effort on the side of working so hard on their home facilities in their community. And on the side of contributing the money for buying iron sheets, The Chairman LC1 and the VHTs decided to work around to collect the money for buying iron sheets, especially for those who are willing to contribute and for those who are constructing strong latrines with bricks and cement. As kibo is still continuing to work with that community, the group walked in 35homes.
