Bible Lesson 4: Loving others
Notes
Ida and Jo went to Maliga and taught about Loving others. She asked the community to tell her their neighbors, they listened them all and Ida asked Joyce to read from Luke 10:25-37 After the reading there was silence for two minutes. Ida asked what they thought about the story. Kimbaya said that he learned to help without expecting anything back. Kunya said that he most times act like the son who got lost from the house. We feel jealous when our neighbors come back from the far world, the son who got lost from the house missed the point. He thought of himself alone. It was very interesting watching community members exchanging ideas. The Muslim women who attended the women’s conference said that Kibo is the best example of the Good Samaritan. They don’t expect anything back, they give to those they are not related to and give with love. After the meeting, an old woman took Ida aside and gave her one thousand shillings, Ida asked the woman what she wanted from Jinja, she said she didn’t want anything from Jinja but gave Ida that money for the good things she has done. Deciding to fuel the car every week is a great sacrifice. This act burst Ida into tears because the old woman didn’t have even what to eat and Ida had her money for lunch. Ida asked Jo to give her some advice, Jo said its good to accept the money because she gave you all she had. Take it and be blessed. So Ida took the money.
