Notes
When David and Steven were in the village, they first moved in about 32 homes. Be cause the chairman had reported to them that there was some progress in the different homes after they had carried out the baseline survey. Therefore before the Kibo staff were to meet the village leaders ,they had to visit several homes . However they were so much encouraged because before even the triggering session there was greater sanitation improvements in the different homes . As they were coming back from their home to home movements they came across some homes where the owners had tried to make some dish-racks and latrine pits. Unfortunately the facilities they saw were not meeting the rightful standards. And on that note David took some time demonstrating and illustrating for the different homes how a good standardized dish rack would have looked like. He continued and advised about the best type of a-dish rack when constructed it would use lesser nails and fewer construction materials. After all that the Kibo staff left and went to where the village leaders had gathered waiting to hear from them. They discussed about the percentage of 48% latrine coverage which had been reflected in the baseline survey being not good . Therefore there was much need for the Kibo staff to carry out the triggering process .The village chairman also thanked the Kibo for granting them the opportunity of teaching them about the good hygiene and sanitation improvements. He continued and said that the government had abandoned them for a longer while. Therefore the chairman thanked Kibo by encouraging so much everyone not to miss the triggering day. David was also happy to hear from the village defense . Because he reported that some members had requested him for the pick axes reason because they had dug some latrine pits and even reached where the bed rocks were and were hard to dig them without a pick axe. Therefore there was greater need for the use of pick axe. They also agreed on the triggering date which was scheduled on 26/ 02/2020. They choose that date because it when they thought every member be around. In general according to the hygiene and sanitation standards of the entire village was not meeting the set Kibo standards. Therefore there was much more need for improvements
