Notes
Alex met with the water user committee members for kisiro new borehole that was drilled by kibo group recently. The committee members were thanked for working together to ensure that the borehole fence is constructed. However there is still need to complete it as required and make some corrections on how the wall was constructed. They raised a big challenge that all the money they had raised had got finished to buy all the materials and were in plans to fundraise for more money to buy more cement needed to complete the fence. The committee members promised to complete the remaining construction part by Friday. There were a few mistakes made during the construction and some of them will be corrected to add the wall more strength. Alex told the committee members about their responsibilities and ensuring that the borehole is taken good care of. They have to remain active at all times and make sure that all water users obey their rules and regulations enacted by the village. The water user committee were warned not to misuse borehole funds and this would lead to withdraw trust from the committee and end up refusing to pay the funds for the borehole maintenance and repair for the future. They were left with a task to mobilize the village for a water meeting that will be aimed at formation of the borehole bylaws. Most of the village men in Kisiro got jobs with a construction company working on a new road connecting Namutumba to Butaleja district and Tororo. They thank kibo group that since they started working in Kisiro, a lot has come to their village even electricity and now a new road that the government is working on that will connect Namutumba district to Butaleja district and other districts in the east. The village will start to use their new well as soon as possible.
