Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with the Chairman LC1, LC2 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on the facility construction in that village. Good enough the community members have worked on their sanitation facilities like Mugoya Kweri, an old Man, he is digging a new pit latrine, it’s now 10ft deep, he is continuing to make it 15 ft deeper, Ayisha Nampina, she is a woman with no husband, she dug a new pit latrine 20ft deep and it’s under construction and Magreat Kongo, she is a widow, she corrected some-money and they dug for her a new pit latrine 25ft deep, and it’s under construction. And other community members are also busy digging their new pit latrines and other sanitation facilities. For those who are still digging their new pit latrines, the group was encouraging them the depth of their pit latrines. Because the fast depth In kibo’s grogram is 15ft deep, and even in the Government policy it’s like that. But kibo always encourages residents that if the soil is good, and it’s not rocky, someone can dig beyond that, like 20ft, 25ft, some one can make it 30ft deeper. For those who are constructing their new facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities, the group was encouraging them about the standards and maintenance, to make them strong and clean. The community members told the group that, they are chance full to have group in their community as well as the village. Because they have learned that, sanitation facilities are so important in their homes. And they promised the group that they are going to work hard on their sanitation facilities, to make their village clean and better than other villages. The group walked in 37homes.
